1948 Buick Roadmaster Convertible
Buick offered the convertible Roadmaster for 1948, priced at $2,837.00. Buick also offered an automatic transmission, the Dynaflow. Sluggish, droning takeoffs prompted some critics to name the new automatic transmission "Dyna-slush."
This car in our collection has a standard transmission and other than a new paint job is an original car. The last of the post-war designed Buicks to have the pre-war design, it was a magnificently beautiful car that was replaced by the 1949 Buick Roadmaster convertible with the "port holes".
Our 1949 Buick Roadmaster, as well as our 1949 Buick Sedanette and our 1949 Buick Riviera are all equipped with Dynaflow, a transmission that was loud and inefficient which made the car get 10 miles to the gallon. The use of Dynaflow lasted 3 years.
