1949 Chrysler Town & Country Convertible
A convertible was the only wood-bodied Town and Country in Chrysler’s new ’49 lineup. The price was a stiff $3,970.00, so production only reached 1,000 units.
Neither Lincoln nor Cadillac built a wood bodied convertible. Chrysler built its wood bodied convertible in 1941 and 1942 before the war and reinstated its construction in 1946 after the war.
Chrysler continued to build the Town and Country Convertible through 1949. In 1950 Chrysler built a wood body but put it on a "hardtop" convertible.
