1935 Ford Phaeton Touring Car

The 1935 Ford reflects the longer, lower, more aerodynamic look favored in that period.  Fenders and trunks were beginning to blend into the body.

Ford's introduction of soybean oil was greatly used in the paint, horn button, window trim, accelerator pedal and timing gear.

This was the year that Babe Ruth, then of the Boston Braves, hit home runs 713 and 714 at the Forbes Field in Pittsburg, home of the Pirates.

A car cost $580, gasoline was 19 cents a gallon, a house cost $6,300, bread was 8 cents a loaf, milk was 47 cents a gallon, postage stamps were 3 cents each, and the average annual salary was $1,500.
