1954 Ford Skyliner Glasstop
Ford’s new ’54 Crestline Skyliner sported a green-tint Plexiglas front half-roof that brought the outside inside.
At $2,164.00, same as the convertible Sunliner, the "bubbletop" attracted respectable sales of 13,344 for the model year.
It was not a big seller in Nevada as sitting inside it without air conditioning was like sitting under a large magnifying glass. Its brother, the Mercury Monterey Sun Valley, has the same problem.
The glass top was available in 1955 and 1956 but was abandoned thereafter.
