1951 Frazer Manhattan Convertible

The last of the Frazers was marked by an extreme facelift from the cowl forward, raised rear fenders with shallow, and faired-in taillights.  The new Hydra-matic transmission was imported from General Motors.

Despite styling that generally provoked all or nothing reaction, more 1951's could have been sold than were built, but the main reason for offering them at all was to use up leftover Kaiser convertible and hardtop bodies.

Only 131 of these convertible sedans were built at a price of $3,075,  The chrome window frames stayed in place when the top was down.  An interesting feature is the little window between the doors, which is apparently there just to fill the space the pillars would occupy on a sedan model.  The three panel rear window added more visibility when the top was up.
