1952 Lincoln Capri Convertible
The Capri became a separate line and the top series for 1952 with the Lincoln restyle. Styling was tasteful and subdued, especially in comparison to contemporary Cadillac. Like most cars of this era, they were fairly heavy, weighing in at a prodigious 4,635 pounds.
The 1952 Lincolns were technologically innovative cars, introducing the first ball joint front suspension of any car and Ford's first overhead valve V8. The Capri was Lincoln's top of the line model. Like the Cosmopolitan it resembled, its gas tank filler was hidden behind the rear license plate.
On July 20th, 1903, Ford Motor Company sold its first car, a Model A, to a Detroit physician. |
