1956 Lincoln Premiere Convertible
The $4,747 Premiere convertible topped Lincoln's five model '56 lineup, but garnered only 2,447 sales. All Lincolns were bigger and heavier than the trio 1955's.
The Premium series in these years relegated Capri to second-class status. The all new design featured a longer, lower, wider and heavier body.
The revised chassis had a three-inch longer wheelbase, and a brand-new "True Power" V8 with 285 horses.
Styling was right up to date, inspired by the Futura show car and featured peaked headlamps, partially covered rear wheel openings, wrapped windshield, and a long rear deck, tapering to give the straight through rear fenders a hint of fin. |
