1941 Packard 120 Convertible
Packard headlights finally moved fully into the fenders for 1941. The resemblance between this 1941 Packard and the 1941 Packard limousine is obvious. Neither is as beautiful as its 1941 Cadillac counterparts.
For many, Packard was one of the leaders in building large luxurious well engineered and gorgeous automobiles. However Packard made a serious mistake when it decided to build smaller and less expensive models to capture more of the car market.
Rather than its reputation as a builder of large manufactured, well engineered cars helping to sell these cheaper cars, the cheaper cars pulled down the overall reputation of Packard which had previously been a car that competed on an equal plane with Cadillac, Chrysler and Lincoln.
This was one more reason for Packard’s eventual demise.
