1953 Packard Caribbean Convertible

Packard's 1951/52 Pan American Show Car was so well received, that Packard produced its counterpart, the Caribbean.  Total production was 750.  This was Packard's answer to the Cadillac Eldorado, both in concept and marketing strategy.

The Caribbean convertible was a show car brought to life via body modifications by Mitchell-Bentley Corporation of Ionia, Michigan.

Its unique standard features list included a full-leather interior, chrome plated wire wheels, enlarged wheel openings with flared lips, full length, full width front hood scoop, "decromed" body look, horizontal tail lights, integrated "fishtail" rear fender treatment, chrome wheel well moldings, front and rear, continental tire kit, and custom finish in one of just four shades of paint: Polaris Blue, Gulf Green Metallic, Matador Maroon, or Sahara Sand.
