1953 Plymouth Cranbrook Convertible
Cranbrooks shared all 1953 styling changes, such as new sheet metal and grille design, but had a higher level of trim and appointments.
The convertible, as usual, had leather grained trim, power top riser, special door panels and a new, zip out pliable, plastic rear window.
Plymouth introduced Hy-Drive, a three speed manual transmission with torque converter, which eliminated the need to use the clutch, except when changing between reverse and forward gears.
There were 6,301 produced and sold for $2,200. There are less than five in use today.
